WHAT IS CERAMIC COATING?
A published five-year coating at Gleamworks costs $1,200–$2,500 installed; repainting one panel at a Metro Vancouver body shop typically costs $600–$1,500. That is worth setting against a repair on a hand-painted Bentley body with many coats of lacquer, where a repaint can break the run of original paint even when the blend looks good.
A Bentley ceramic coating is a thin sacrificial layer that resists light wash marks and gives rain, grime, bird droppings, and tree residue less to cling to. It will not stop a stone chip, and it cannot replace careful washing. Before we coat, we machine-polish in house to remove swirl marks, spider-webbing, and oxidation. We inspect the finish under shop lights before we choose the correction work. If you are comparing car detailing Bentley work, ask whether the price includes that correction instead of putting a coating over marks already in the lacquer. That answer tells you what the coating is being asked to protect.
