WHAT IS PAINT PROTECTION FILM (CLEAR BRA) ?

Paint protection film is a clear urethane layer fitted over painted panels. It helps take the wear from road grit, light scuffs, tree sap, and other contact that would otherwise reach the clear coat. It does not make your paint immune to damage, and it does not replace washing. Cedar and fir sap, June cottonwood fluff, and spring pollen can stay on a car when it sits outside. The film gives us a replaceable surface to clean and, if needed, renew without repainting the panel beneath. Bugatti Ceramic Coating is a separate service. A coating adds a thin, hard sacrificial layer that resists light marring and helps with cleaning, but it does not replace film where stones strike. We correct swirls, spider-webbing, and oxidation in house before coating work. Film carries up to a 9-year manufacturer warranty, depending on the product and coverage you choose.

How long does it take to apply paint protection film?

The right answer comes after we inspect the car, its access, the panels you want covered, and the condition of the paint. Bugatti Detailing for film is not a fixed clock job. A car with dried sap, pollen, old wax, or marks that need correction needs prep before we fit anything. Because there is no dealer in British Columbia, we arrange the work around the car’s secure location rather than ask you to move it through traffic or bad weather. We also allow time to inspect edges, sensors, vents, and panel joins before we start. If you add STEK Final Coat, an extended 12-year warranty is available. Ask us for a work plan after we have seen the car and agreed on coverage.

Are there any special care instructions for paint protection film?

Keep the film clean, especially after wet road use, tree cover, or a ferry crossing. This coast records 169.5 days each year with measurable precipitation. Rain holds dirt against the surface, then can leave mineral spots when it dries. Rinse loose grit before you wash. Use clean wash tools and car wash soap, then dry the panels rather than letting water sit in seams and around edges. Remove cedar or fir sap, cottonwood fluff, and pollen as soon as you can. Do not pick at a film edge or scrub one dirty spot with a dry towel. A Bugatti often spends time parked rather than driven daily, which makes shade, standing water, and tree debris worth checking before the next outing. Regular washing does not remove the need for inspection; it lets you spot a lifted edge or damaged area before dirt works underneath it.

What happens if the film gets scratched?

A mark in the film needs an inspection, not a guess from a photo. Some marks sit in surface dirt. Others cut through the film and may need a new piece fitted to that panel. We check the affected area, clean it, and decide whether the mark is in the film or has reached the paint. Freeze-thaw and winter brine make that check more important here. Water can work into a stone chip, expand in cold weather, and give corrosion a start. On a Bugatti, keeping the original paint intact can avoid a more involved repair later. If a damaged section needs replacement, we remove that section and fit fresh XPEL, STEK DYNOshield, or SunTek film as the coverage requires. Can paint protection film be removed?

Yes. A trained installer can remove paint protection film when it has reached the end of its useful life, when a panel needs repair, or when you want to change coverage. Salt air and damp parking can leave dirt around panel gaps and edges, so removal should include a close clean and inspection rather than a quick pull. Ferry deck salt spray, road sand, and wet storage affect paint regardless of how often a car leaves the garage. Is Bugatti dealer paint protection worth it?

Usually, no, unless the dealer gives you a written film brand, coverage map, installer, and warranty. A dealer package may be a coating or a limited front-end film rather than full coverage. What are the downsides of Bugatti PPF?

It will not stop every impact. A poor install can trap contamination, show cut lines, or lift at edges, which looks worse than leaving sound paint alone.

How long does Bugatti paint protection film last?

What can damage Bugatti paint protection film?

Do not use brush tunnels, abrasive pads, cutting compounds, or strong solvent cleaners on film. Keep a pressure-washer lance away from seams and edges, and never pick at an edge or cut near it. Remove bird droppings, tree sap, fuel spills, and road salt promptly. These mistakes can dull the surface, stain it, or start edge lift.

Can I take a Bugatti through car washes?

Hand washing is the safest choice. Touchless bays are generally fine if their chemistry is mild and the car is rinsed well. Avoid brush washes because grit in the brushes can mark the film.
