Eagle Paint Protection Film

PAINT PROTECTION FILM FOR VANCOUVER RICHMOND BURNABY SURREY LOWER MAINLAND, BC

WHAT IS PAINT PROTECTION FILM (CLEAR BRA) ?

Paint protection film is a fitted layer placed over the paint you want to preserve, rather than a product wiped across the whole car. It covers paint against loose grit and can reduce scuffs and chips on the panel beneath, though it cannot stop every impact. We install XPEL, STEK DYNOshield, and SunTek in gloss, satin, or matte finishes. Before we fit it, we check the paint for old marks, failed repairs, and edge damage. That step matters on a discontinued Eagle, since hiding a defect under film does not correct it. A full-vehicle Platinum package starts at $4,699; select it when you want coverage beyond the front end.

BENEFITS OF PAINT PROTECTION FILM

Vancouver records measurable precipitation on 169.5 days a year, leaving water on parked paint often enough for mineral spots to set as it dries. The Eagle badge ended in 1998, and parts support and paint support have long gone. Eagle car detailing should begin with the front end, where road grit and wet grime mark paint that may be hard to match later. Our Gold package starts at $1,799 and covers the full hood, full fenders, mirrors, front bumper, and headlights. By comparison, repainting one panel at a Metro Vancouver body shop is typically in the range of $600–$1,500. Pick the Gold package if those leading panels still carry sound original paint.

How long does it take to apply paint protection film?

No fixed installation time suits every Eagle. A clean, sound panel needs less prep than paint with old tar, stone marks, or residue along an edge. We first inspect the panels and agree on coverage, then prepare each area before fitting the film. We also handle paint correction in-house: machine polishing removes swirl marks, spider-webbing, and oxidation before any coating goes on. Full coverage, add-ons such as rocker covers or door-sill pairs, and the state of the paint set the schedule. The useful choice is a front package or broader coverage, not a rushed time promise.

Are there any special care instructions for paint protection film?

Annual rain reaches 1,119.2 mm here, so washing is less about a perfect finish than taking contaminants off before they dry on the film. Rinse loose grit first, use clean wash tools, and dry pooled water from edges and trim. Tower parkades add a separate problem: drips can leave mineral marks, while construction dust and overspray can stick to a wet surface. Do not scrub overspray or gritty dust; tell us what landed on the car so we can inspect it. After a Horseshoe Bay ferry run, rinse salt spray from the lower panels, rocker areas, and wheel openings. Regular washing will not stop every mark, but it reduces the dirt that you grind across the film.

What happens if the film gets scratched?

If the film gets scratched, first find out whether the mark sits in the film or has cut through to paint. A light mark may be limited to its surface; a tear, lifted edge, or deep cut needs an inspection. We can assess the damaged section and advise whether replacing that piece makes more sense than leaving exposed paint. Do not cut or pick at an edge, especially on an Eagle with old paint or prior repairs. STEK Final Coat can make a 12-year extended film warranty available, while manufacturer coverage can run up to 9 years. Coverage and warranty terms do not mean every scratch qualifies, so bring the car in before water reaches a cut edge.

Can paint protection film be removed?

Yes, a trained installer can remove PPF, but removal needs care on a classic with unknown repairs or aged paint. We inspect the condition around each edge before we start, then check the exposed panel once the film is off. Do not pull it away at home or use strong chemicals to force an edge loose. That can turn a film replacement into paint work on a panel that may be hard to match. Removal also gives you a clear view of stone marks or old repairs before you choose new coverage. For an Eagle, keeping original paint intact is often the reason to replace a worn section rather than leave it bare.

What kind of vehicles can use PPF?

PPF suits an Eagle that still sees regular road use, a stored collector car, or a car headed out in poor weather. We can cover the front end, rocker areas, door-sill pairs, and loading lip rather than every panel. That lets you protect the spots that take grit from the Sea-to-Sky or salt spray on a ferry deck. Gleamworks has protected more than 2,000 vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, and RVs. An Eagle can use any coverage plan that matches its paint condition and how you drive it.

How much does Eagle PPF cost here?

Eagle PPF starts at $1,299 for Light coverage, while full-vehicle coverage starts at $4,699. The Gold package starts at $1,799 and adds a full hood, full fenders, mirrors, bumper, and headlights. Larger panels and more coverage need more film and fitting, so price rises with the area protected.

Should I use a generic Eagle PPF installer?

A specialist is the safer choice if the scope is clear and the installer can show their prep work. Gleamworks starts front protection at $1,299, uses XPEL, STEK DYNOshield, or SunTek, and can correct swirls before installation. A lower generic quote may cover fewer impact areas or leave paint prep unclear. The difference should buy coverage, clean fitting, and proper paint preparation.

What are the downsides of Eagle PPF?

The main downside is cost, since full-vehicle Eagle coverage starts at $4,699. Film can still be punctured or damaged by a hard hit, and a damaged section may need replacement. Installation also takes careful prep, especially on older paint. A cheap install with poor edges, trapped dirt, or bad paint prep can look worse than leaving the car alone.

How long does Eagle paint protection film last?

PPF has manufacturer warranty coverage of up to 9 years. A 12-year extended warranty is available with STEK Final Coat. That warranty is not immunity from damage. Highway grit, repeated abrasion, neglected contamination, and lifting edges can damage film sooner. Washing it properly and dealing with edge damage early gives the film its best chance of lasting well.

What ruins Eagle paint protection film?

Avoid abrasive wash brushes, scraping ice across film edges, and aiming a concentrated pressure-washer jet at seams. Do not pick at a lifted edge or use harsh solvents without checking that they suit PPF. Letting brine, salt, sap, and bird droppings sit for long periods also makes cleaning harder. Film needs washing and inspection, not neglect.

Can I use car washes with Eagle PPF?

Yes, touchless washes are generally the safer automatic option, while hand washing is best. Avoid brush tunnels because dirty brushes can mar the film. Pressure washers are fine with a broad spray, but keep the jet off exposed edges and seams. Use clean wash tools, rinse grit first, and dry gently rather than rubbing road dirt across the surface.

Is Eagle PPF worth it locally?

Yes, especially if the Eagle still sees regular road use. Vancouver receives 1,159.5 mm of precipitation each year and has measurable precipitation on 169.5 days. Water works into existing chips during freeze-thaw periods, while grit adds fresh front-end damage. PPF takes the direct chip and abrasion hits, but it cannot repair rust or paint damage already present.

Does PPF protect Eagle collector value?

It can help preserve original paint, which matters more when paint and panel support are hard to find. A panel repaint typically costs $600–$1,500 locally, and repainting can change an older car’s originality. Film cannot guarantee resale value, but documented protection may help avoid reconditioning work and retain more of the Eagle’s original finish.
