Kavaca PPF Installation in Vancouver, BC

Gleamworks is a certified Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer in Greater Vancouver. Kavaca is the only PPF film on the market that heals at ambient temperature without applied heat — and the only brand that logs your installation automatically to your vehicle’s Carfax history. Read the warranty section below before you book. The structure is different from every other film we carry, and it matters.

What Is Kavaca PPF?

Kavaca is the paint protection film produced by Ceramic Pro (NanoShine Ltd.). It’s built around two technologies that no competing brand offers: instant ambient-temperature self-healing, and automatic Carfax documentation at the time of installation.

Every other major PPF brand — XPEL, STEK, SunTek, 3M, LLumar — uses heat-activated self-healing. The film requires applied thermal energy to recover surface abrasions. Kavaca’s elastomeric polymer formulation works differently: it heals at room temperature as the vehicle sits. Minor abrasions from a contact car wash, a door brush in a tight parking space, or a soft cloth wipe recover without any deliberate action from you.

In Vancouver’s covered-parking and underground-lot environment, where direct sun is limited for much of the year, this ambient mechanism is a practical advantage that heat-activated films cannot replicate. Your film is actively recovering in conditions where competing films are waiting for heat.

Every Kavaca installation through a certified Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer is logged directly into the Carfax vehicle history database automatically — no paperwork to manage, no transfer process at sale. A future buyer who runs your VIN sees the PPF installation as a documented service record.

All pricing is before GST (5%) and PST (7%). BC PPF installation is subject to both taxes — 12% combined. Kavaca is the highest-priced film we carry. To compare total cost fairly against XPEL or SunTek, factor the annual inspection fee into your calculation — see the Warranty section below.

Kavaca PPF Warranty — Read This Before You Book

Kavaca’s warranty structure is different from every other PPF brand. Understanding it before installation is not optional.

Base Duration 12 years from installation date — no annual requirements beyond standard maintenance
Lifetime Option Lifetime of factory paint — conditional on annual paid inspection within a 60-day anniversary window each year
Coverage Yellowing, cracking, bubbling, delamination, manufacturing defects
Annual Inspection Paid service, dealer-set fee. Vancouver estimate: $150–$300+ CAD per visit. Miss the window = lifetime drops permanently to 12-year base.
Transferable? Yes — conditionally. New owner must continue annual inspections. Miss one = coverage drops to 1 year from transfer date.
Carfax Integration Automatic. Installation logged to vehicle Carfax history at time of delivery. No paperwork to manage.
What Voids It Non-certified installer, abrasive chemicals, aftermarket/repainted panels, physical impact creating dents

Total cost of ownership note: A 7-year ownership period with annual inspections at $150–$300 CAD per visit adds $1,050–$2,100 CAD to your total investment beyond the initial installation price. Factor this against XPEL's zero recurring cost when comparing quotes. The gap between brands narrows once inspection costs are included.

Why Choose Gleamworks for Kavaca PPF in Vancouver

All three lines share 8.0 mil thickness and the same ambient self-healing mechanism.

Kavaca is only available through certified Ceramic Pro Elite Dealers — not through general PPF shops. Elite Dealer certification requires training, installation standards, and ongoing accountability to Ceramic Pro's quality criteria. Your Carfax documentation and warranty are issued through Gleamworks as your certified dealer.
We coordinate annual inspection scheduling for every Kavaca client. You shouldn't have to track your anniversary window yourself — a missed window permanently costs you the lifetime warranty upgrade. We handle the reminder and scheduling so that doesn't happen.
Every Kavaca installation we complete is built to the standard it needs to pass future annual inspections. Proper surface prep, clean edge wrapping, zero installation artifacts. The last thing a client needs is edge lift discovered at the first annual review.
Kavaca is the right film for specific buyers. If your ownership profile doesn't match the annual inspection model — short-term ownership, leasing, preference for zero recurring cost — we'll tell you that and recommend XPEL, 3M, or SunTek instead. We don't push one film for every customer.

FAQ

How does Kavaca self-healing work without heat?

Kavaca's elastomeric topcoat uses a polymer formulation with a lower activation threshold than competing films. While XPEL, 3M, and SunTek require applied thermal energy to recover surface abrasions, Kavaca's polymer chains return to their original configuration at ambient room temperature. Minor scratches and swirl marks heal passively as the vehicle sits — no sun or warm water required.

What happens if I miss the annual inspection window?

The lifetime warranty automatically drops to the 12-year base term from your original installation date. It cannot be reinstated by resuming inspections after the missed window — the downgrade is permanent. The 12-year base coverage remains fully in place; you lose only the lifetime extension. This is why we coordinate annual inspection scheduling for every Kavaca client.

How does Carfax integration work?

At time of installation, we submit your installation record directly to the Carfax vehicle database through the Ceramic Pro platform. The record appears in your vehicle's history as a documented protection service — installation date, installer, product. This happens automatically with no owner action required. Any future buyer who runs your VIN sees the record without you needing to manage paperwork.

Is Kavaca worth it for a leased vehicle?

No. Kavaca's premium pricing and annual inspection model are structured for long-term ownership relationships. On a 3-year lease, you're paying for a warranty architecture that doesn't match your timeline. For leased vehicles, a standard 10-year film from XPEL, SunTek, or 3M provides appropriate protection at a better cost-per-year.

How does total Kavaca cost compare to XPEL over 7 years?

A full vehicle Kavaca installation at $5,500–$7,000 CAD plus 7 annual inspections at $150–$300 CAD each totals approximately $6,550–$9,100 CAD over 7 years before tax. A comparable XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS installation at $4,500–$7,000 CAD with no recurring costs totals $4,500–$7,000 CAD over the same period. The gap narrows when you factor in that Kavaca's factory ceramic pre-coat eliminates the ceramic coating add-on some XPEL buyers add separately. Contact us for a vehicle-specific comparison.
