How long does it take to apply paint protection film?

We do not give every Lexus the same installation time, because the scope and paint condition set the work. We first inspect the panels, note existing chips and marks, and decide whether paint correction is needed before the film goes on. We do that correction in house rather than send your car to another shop. The Light Package starts at $1,299 and covers the half hood, half fenders, mirrors, and front bumper. Platinum coverage starts at $4,699 for the full vehicle. An RX, NX, ES, GX, or TX still needs its own inspection, even when two cars carry the same badge. The useful booking question is which panels you want covered and what condition they are in now.

Are there any special care instructions for paint protection film?

Care is simple, but the coast makes regular washing matter. At YVR, annual rain totals 1,119.2 mm, and water that dries on film can leave mineral spots. Rinse salt, sap, bird mess, and heavy pollen before they bake on or sit in an edge. Use a mild car-wash soap, clean wash tools, and plenty of water rather than scrubbing a dry panel. Keep a pressure-washer nozzle moving and avoid holding it on an exposed edge. Do not pick at an edge that has lifted or trap dirt under it by rubbing. The film still needs washing; it reduces direct paint wear, not the need for care. After a Sea-to-Sky Highway drive or time near the water, rinse the lower panels, wheel areas, and rocker covers before the dirt dries.

What happens if the film gets scratched?

First, do not judge a scratch while the panel is dusty or wet. Clean the area, then let us inspect whether the mark sits on the surface, has cut the film, or has reached the paint. If the damage is limited to the film, we can assess replacement of the affected piece instead of sending the panel for paint work. If an impact has gone through to paint, deal with that chip before water and salt work into it. A rock-chip touch-up visit here typically falls in the range of $75–$250. Lexus retains value well in BC, so clean original panels can help avoid reconditioning work that a dealer may deduct at trade-in. The key difference is whether the mark stopped in the film or reached your paint.

Can paint protection film be removed?

A trained installer can remove film, but we inspect the paint and edges before we start. The film is designed to come off; removal results still depend on the condition of the paint beneath and any prior repair work. We remove it in controlled sections, clear any remaining adhesive, and check the panel once it is bare. Older repainted panels or paint with weak adhesion need a closer look before removal.
